And in moments of danger, Goldie’s instinct kicks in, dropping to the ground to alert Samantha. Goldie’s keen senses transform their communication into a dance of gestures, bridging the gap between silence and the connection to the world around Samantha.

When Goldie wears her vest, she is working and only responds to Samantha. Without her vest, she is friendly, enjoys people, and loves her canine friends.

Through adventures in Serenity Cove—like beach outings, picnics, and even play dates with her best friend, Wolf—Goldie’s antics bring laughter and teach valuable lessons about love, trust, and resilience.

Meet Lady—the collie that inspired the character of Goldie.

In my childhood, I was blessed with a collie named Lady, who was as sweet and fun as Lassie from the movies. She wasn’t just a pet; she was my best friend, my confidante, and the partner in my youthful adventures.

Our days together were nothing short of magical. I remember the golden summer afternoons when we would run through fields of wildflowers. Lady would race ahead, her fur shimmering in the sunlight, a blur of energy and joy. She had a way of bounding across the grass that made every moment feel like a scene from a movie. I would call her name, and she would turn back, her tail wagging as if to say, “Come on! Let’s find more adventures!” There was one particular day that stood out. It was an unusually warm day, and we explored the nearby fields. Lady trotted beside me, her ears perked up.

We stumbled upon a hidden clearing shaded by an old oak tree, like our own secret hideaway. The sunlight streamed through the trees, casting a warm glow on the ground. I found the perfect spot to sit, surrounded by vibrant blossoms. Lady lay down beside me, resting her head on my lap. At that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of contentment.

Suddenly, we heard a rustling in the bushes nearby. I felt a rush of excitement as we investigated. To my astonishment, a small family of rabbits emerged, their tiny noses twitching with curiosity. Lady remained still and calm, her eyes wide with wonder. I watched, mesmerized, as the rabbits explored their surroundings, totally unaware of Lady.

Those were the days that built the foundation of my childhood memories—full of laughter, exploration, and an unbreakable bond. Lady was my protector, friend, and adventure partner; every day with her was a new chapter.

As I grew older, our escapades continued, but the innocence and joy of those early days remained etched in my heart. Lady taught me the value of companionship and the joy of sharing life with a beloved pet. Even now, as I reflect on those moments, I can almost hear her excited barks in the distance and feel the warmth of the sun on my face during our endless adventures together.
